The recent anniversary update to The Rogue Prince of Persia will be its last, developer Evil Empire has announced, with its next release just over two weeks away.
Castlevania: Belmont's Curse is that next title, and it's shaping up incredibly well, due for a PS5 release on 15th October 2026.
As for The Rogue Prince of Persia, the studio had originally been planning to put out two updates, but it took the best bit from them for one last patch. "We've always been a bit too optimistic about what we could do, mostly because we genuinely love working on the game, but we feel this is the right way to wrap up its first year," the developer added on social media.
"It's time to say goodbye to the Prince. We hope he keeps running for a very, very long time. Thank you."
Evil Empire now has Castlevania: Belmont's Curse right around the corner, which it's making for Konami alongside Dead Cells team Motion Twin. If the Dead Cells post-launch expansions and The Rogue Prince of Persia are anything to go by, then Belmont's Curse is in very safe hands.
