People love the Nintendo 64. Sure, the system didn't supply an especially expansive and varied library, but most of its games were great or innovative. Anyone looking to build a retro N64 collection will need to open their wallet wide, at least if they want complete-in-box versions. We are talking about more than $400 for the rarest N64 games.
Thanks to sites like PriceCharting, data exists that provides a general idea of a release's current value, based on recent sales and listings. That doesn't mean you cannot find these N64 games for cheaper, but it means you should have realistic expectations and plan accordingly.
All prices were taken from PriceCharting.com and were accurate as of September 9, 2026. We rank the games by their "Complete In Box" prices when that data is available. If not, we will use the price for a loose copy.
Depending on your region, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards doesn't have to be that expensive of a purchase, although a CIB version will always require a bit of cash. In North America, you can probably get a copy for about $150, and way cheaper if you are fine with loose. However, in PAL regions, Kirby 64 is far more expensive, to the point of being more than 3x the price. Why is that so?
Well, the simple answer is that the N64 really wasn't popular in Europe, and it was completely overshadowed by the PS1. The console debuted in 1997, meaning it was instantly on the back foot. Many games also launched later than in other regions, including Kirby 64. Despite launching in 2000 in Japan and North America, Nintendo's platformer didn't release in Europe until June 2001, a year after its NTSC launch. By then, the PS2 had already been out for a couple of months.
Sticking with PAL for now, Chameleon Twist 2 is at its most expensive in Europe, although the other versions aren't cheap either. While the NTSC release can be fetched for around $270 (complete in box), the PAL version requires about $200 more; however, loose copies are roughly the same in both regions.
Unlike its predecessor, Chameleon Twist 2 isn't particularly beloved, suffering from a terrible camera, a short length, no multiplayer, and weird redesigns. If you love the first game, you might get a kick out of the sequel, but definitely don't pay an arm and a leg just to play it on its original system.
