This week is one of the biggest of the year with back-to-back releases of Control Resonant and Konami's latest horror entry with Silent Hill: Townfall, leaving little room for much else to stand out. While both these titles are already receiving plenty of attention as two of September's most anticpated games, another completely unexpected title has managed to surpass both of them in sales ahead of release, as spotted by GamesRadar.
While these numbers are likely to change after Control Resonant and Silent Hill: Townfall officially go live, this Steam game has still managed to amass an impressive 96% positive review score to earn it the relatively rare "Overwhelmingly Positive" review score on Steam.
While it's a massive shift away from the more gritty triple-a experiences offered by the two gaming giants, the incredibly intricate gameplay mechanics and cozy storytelling experience offered by Dressmaker has been getting plenty of acclaim already, even managing to surpass SIlent Hill: Townfall's early review scores.
Being true to its name, Dressmaker is a detailed clothing store simulator where you're tasked with creating custom clothing from scratch, creating your own patterns, cutting, sowing, and accessorizing your outfits. It isn't just a sandbox either, as Dressmaker also lets you advertise your own pre-made creations, attempt to satisfy each customer's specific requests, or even sabotage them to change the story.
Although Dressmaker doesn't have as much general appeal, it's already been getting massive praise for just how detailed and customizable its mechanics are, with countless ways to complete each character request while not being too overwhelming for beginners.
If you are interested in checking it out, Dressmaker is also on a 10% launch sale for the next few days, putting it at a fraction fo the prices for the other games releasing this month at $13.49, well under the $20 mark on Steam.
