We've seen quite a bit of chatter about the new SteelSeries Aeon Pro Xbox and PC controller over the past 24 hours, which is now available to buy at the quite eye-watering price of $259.99 via the SteelSeries website.

However, they're certainly packing a lot of features into this thing! The SteelSeries Aeon Pro includes a "World's First PC <--> XBOX QuickSwitch Dock" which allows you to switch between Xbox consoles, PC and mobile without "re-pairing, reconnecting, or moving cables", as well as an OLED smart display, Hall Effect thumbsticks, mechanical switches and even a so-called "Unlimited" battery system due to the two rechargeable batteries.

There are various other neat features tucked in here too, such as the ability to switch between full or hair trigger mode with one click, a modular stick system with various attachments included, and a wrap around grip for ultimate comfort.
Various outlets have been taking a look at the Aeon Pro for review this week, and here are some examples:
IGN: "I spent most of my testing time slashing through corrupted fiends in the excellent new Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and the Aeon Pro served as an outstanding conduit for my mind-body-sword connection. Whether I was slashing and dodging or chaining together Issen counterattacks, the Aeon Pro felt excellent in hand and never failed to deliver my strikes."
Digital Foundry: "I'd rather see a big swing than a tame one, and the Aeon Pro is undoubtedly aiming for the fences. If you're lucky enough to have the budget for it, I would recommend this over the Elite Series 2, ROG Raikiri 2 or the GameSir G7 Pro 8K. I'm just not likely to call it a value champion any time soon."
Trusted Reviews: "The SteelSeries Aeon Pro is a genuinely accomplished first swing at the pro controller market, backing up its clever swappable-battery dock with Hall effect sticks and triggers that hold their own against established rivals. It's pricey, though, and a little light on customisation extras compared to some rivals, but the performance and connectivity on offer make it one of the most complete pro pads around."
As you can see, the critics seem to be having mostly a great time with it, but also recognise that it's an expensive controller that will only appeal to those who don't mind coughing up over $250.
