Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days doesn't officially begin until October 6, but we're already seeing some early discounts ahead of the two-day event, including a sizeable saving on one of Corsair's latest gaming keyboards.
The Corsair Vanguard Air 99 is currently £189.99 at Amazon UK, down from £239.99. That's a £50 saving before the main Prime Big Deal Days sale has even got underway, making this one to keep an eye on if you've been considering a premium gaming keyboard.
Corsair isn't exactly known for making budget gaming peripherals, and the Vanguard Air 99 is very much aimed at the higher end of the keyboard market. It's a premium wireless gaming keyboard built for players who want a combination of performance, customisation and a few more bells and whistles than you'll find on a basic mechanical board.
The keyboard uses Corsair's MLX Pulse linear mechanical switches, with the low-profile design aimed at delivering fast and responsive inputs while keeping things relatively quiet. There's also a 8,000Hz polling rate, which means the keyboard can report inputs extremely quickly, helping minimise latency when you're gaming.
It's a 96% layout, too, giving you a more compact footprint than a traditional full-sized keyboard while retaining the dedicated arrow keys and number pad. That makes it a potentially good middle ground if you don't want to sacrifice functionality just to save a bit of desk space.
The Vanguard Air 99 is also wireless, with both 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth connectivity available, so you can use it across different devices without having to keep a cable permanently attached to your desk.
As you'd expect from a modern Corsair keyboard, there's per-key RGB lighting and plenty of scope for customisation through Corsair's software. You can also expect the sort of build quality you'd hope for at this price, with the Vanguard Air 99 designed as a premium option rather than an entry-level gaming keyboard.
