In case you couldn’t get enough leaked footage of games currently in development, one of Marvel’s next big game has received similar treatment to Grand Theft Auto 6 today.
This morning, a work-in-progress trailer for the upcoming Iron Man game from Electronic Arts and Motive Studio appeared online and quickly spread everywhere, and it’s already got a lot of people talking.
EA first announced the new Iron Man game back in 2022, and next month is actually the four year anniversary of its reveal, so it seems as though some official news is likely coming some time soon, perhaps even as soon as the end of the year to drum up excitement for a release. But for now, it appears that the Montreal-based studio has been cooking up something awesome.
I won’t be sharing the video here, but the trailer is impressive, even in all of its un-rendered glory. The video has no sound, and it’s watermarked with a user number and “Aug26 Test,” so it’s likely recent. It shows some familiar characters like Tony Stark, and presumably others that look like. Pepper Potts, Obadiah Stane, and the regulars you’d expect from the character.
Most notably, however, we get some epic shots of Iron Man flying around a city at breakneck speed, using his gauntlets to blast enemies, and overall just looking like a bad-ass in his billion-dollar mech suit. It’s early, and a lot of the footage is unfinished and placeholder, but it looks promising.
“Developed in collaboration with Marvel Games, the game will feature an original narrative that taps into the rich history of Iron Man, channeling the complexity, charisma, and creative genius of Tony Stark, and enabling players to feel what it’s like to truly play as Iron Man,” EA said back in 2022.
Considering that the footage is still early and clearly from a dev build of the game, it appears that EA/Motive have a leaker on their hands. It’s unfortunate that the game is now out there before it’s ready to be shown, and I feel for the devs who may be affected by it. But I’ll let you be the judge of how this particular leak may have happened if you can find the video online yourself.
