Meta has unveiled a new AI device called the Meta Muse Charm that bears strong similarities to classic Tamagotchi toys. While the Meta Muse Charm should be able to do a lot more than a kid's toy ever could, many questions remain about the new accessory.
During the Meta Connect event on September 23, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg took to the stage to introduce new products, including a new item called the Meta Muse Charm. The little handheld device looks similar to a Tamagotchi, or an Apple Watch without the strap, and is designed to let users easily connect with Meta Muse, the new agentic AI launched by the social media company. The handheld device will let users connect with Meta Muse without having to access their phone or use Meta smart glasses. Users will be able to activate it by pressing a thumbprint sensor in the corner, and the device will include a screen to display the new Muse Realtime Avatar, a camera, microphone, and 5G connectivity. Pricing hasn't been revealed for the charm yet, but Zuckerberg said the company intends for it to ship by December.
