Medieval sandbox strategy RPG The End of History will leave Early Access and launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam in Q1 2027, publisher WorldMap and developer Tatamibeya announced. The console versions are newly announced.
The End of History first launched in Early Access for PC on December 10 for $28, 2025.
The End of History is a sandbox strategy RPG set in a fictional medieval feudal world, where the player’s choices push history in directions nobody planned.
You are not a chosen hero. You leave your foster parent’s home as a nameless wanderer, and whether you end up a knight, a noble, or a monarch is left to you.
The world is populated by NPCs who pursue their own goals, and history advances whether or not the player intervenes. Two forces drive it: Division and Hatred. As they climb, so does the World Collapse Gauge, and past a certain point the world ends. What you watch, and where you decide to step in, is the game. Faced with hardship and dilemma after dilemma, every run takes shape as a different history.
The End of History entered Steam Early Access on December 10, 2025 and has been updated steadily since. The console versions are planned to ship with the improvements accumulated across that Early Access period.
The Steam Early Access build of The End of History will be playable at the WorldMap booth at Tokyo Game Show 2026. Visitors to the booth will also receive a special printed booklet collecting “Your Observation Logs,” player accounts submitted through the official Discord server.
