Oh boy, are we actually doing this? Because it cares little for consistency across its games, anime, and manga, Digimon's power scaling is all over the place, making this a volatile topic. Which Digimon's evolutionary line ranks as the most OP? Honestly, the answer varies by medium; however, we can narrow the candidate list down to five distinct ones. Lucemon isn't one of them, which makes me worried that I'm kicking things off with a blunder.
Looking over Digimon's strongest evolution lines, they consistently morph a cute little Rookie into either a mecha or a Kaiju, and the progress is kind of incredible. We are talking about final forms that can pull off absurd reality-warping stunts that go far beyond firing a Pepper Breath or unleashing a Vee-Headbutt. Let's get to it, then.
I'm going to count lines that involve fusion (Jogress).
Veemon, or V-mon in the Japanese version, has one of the most fascinating lines in the Digimon franchise because he can Armor Digivolve, and his standard solo route ends with the incredibly fast UlforceVeedramon. However, like in most cases, V-mon needs a bit of help to reach his absolute apex, as his Jogress line requires combining Exveemon with Stingmon to achieve Paildramon and eventually Imperialdramon.
This line's final form, Imperialdramon: Paladin Mode, is regarded as the Founder of the Royal Knights, an ancient warrior with an essentially deity-like mythos. When the Digital World was collapsing, this version of Imperialdramon stepped up to save everyone, cementing himself as a legend. Paladin Mode's strongest weapon is the Omni Sword, a blade so sharp that it cuts through everything to reach a Digimon's configuration data.
So, we are starting things off with a Digimon that is part Arthurian myth, part Gundam, and part legendary hero... Are there really four stronger evolution lines?
The Agumon and Gabumon Jogress line is the blueprint that Digimon returns to when mapping the escalation of its true powerhouses. The lines shift from a feral bipedal reptile and a pelt-wearing beast into a fused, administrative Holy Knight capable of rewriting server existence. On their own, Agumon and Gabumon peak with the powerful WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon, two forms that became stepping stones when Digimon: The Movie introduced the world to Omnimon.
Regarded as the leader of the Royal Knights, Omnimon combines WarGreymon's close-quarters power (courtesy of the Grey Sword) and MetalGarurumon's long-range capabilities (courtesy of the Garuru Cannon), making him a threat from almost anywhere. He can also defend himself pretty well, as his armor can take a beating without showing any signs of wear.
