Normally, all critters in Steal an Egg earn you cash every second, even when you're offline. The good thing is that you can manually increase their base income by getting mutated pets.
Steal an Egg currently has eight pet mutations, and unlike other Roblox experiences, such as Grow a Garden, you can't apply them directly to animals. Instead, you'll need to find mutated eggs and open them to snag animals with these special variants. Pet mutations in Steal an Egg fall into two categories:
Natural mutations are permanent and include Rainbow, Golden, and Silver. You can come across these variants while opening eggs or by picking up an egg that has already spawned with one.
For example, a Rainbow Egg can appear in any monster's nest after the night ends (Look for the glowing rainbow aura around it to spot one). Open it to get a Rainbow pet based on the egg's type. So, a Rainbow Shark Egg can give you a Rainbow-mutated Shark with 3.5x the base income per second.
Event exclusive mutations, on the other hand, can only be earned by playing their events and are available for a limited time. Generally, you'll need to open special event eggs or use temporary incubators and devices to get them.

While Luminous and Rainbow are currently the best mutations in Steal an Egg, the others can still boost your pet's worth, so their variant critters are worth adding to your pen, too.
