Insomniac Games responded to recent allegations that the company used AI-generated artwork in Marvel's Wolverine, quashing the rumors and providing an explanation. Marvel's Wolverine launched on September 15 as a spin-off set in the same universe as Insomniac's Marvel's Spider-Man series.
An Insomniac executive denied claims that the company used AI for art assets in Marvel's Wolverine. In response to a claim alleging the use of AI concerning a distorted sign on an in-game restroom, Insomniac's Director of Community and Marketing, James Stevenson, shared that the sign was the result of a UV map bug. Stevenson confirmed that a new update for Marvel's Wolverine is on the way to fix the sign, which causes the silhouette on the sign to break apart and duplicate. The Insomniac director reiterated in his reply that the company did not use any AI-generated assets within Marvel's Wolverine.
