Here we go, folks! Xbox has announced out of the blue this evening that all Xbox console users are getting access to the disc to digital feature today, following its brief period of testing for Xbox Insiders over the past few weeks.
The news was announced by the official Xbox account on social media, and Xbox engineer Eden Marie has advised that it should be working already. We've verified on our end that it's gone live, although it required us to restart our consoles.
As far as we can tell, there's no kind of system update that needs to be done here, as Disc to Digital was seemingly included in the September 22nd update but just hidden from view until Xbox decided it was ready to be unleashed.
If you're not seeing it for whatever reason, our suggestion is to force it through by going to "Settings", "General", "Power Options" and then "Restart Now". Once your console is back on, you should be prompted to claim the digital license when inserting an eligible disc, but you can also hover over the game tile on the dashboard and press the Menu button on your controller to find a similar option.
Earlier today, it was revealed that SEGA had joined the Xbox Disc to Digital program following Ubisoft's arrival a few weeks ago, meaning there's an absolute ton of supported games to take advantage of. Go and enjoy!
