You'll be able to play the latest Professor Layton title, the New World of Steam, on PS5 this December as the character makes his PlayStation debut. However, also, the original title that started the series is being remade.
Level-5 has announced today in its latest livestream that a full PS5 remake of Professor Layton and the Curious Village is releasing next year. You can catch the reveal trailer above.
As for the kind of updates and improvements you can expect in the remade version, the official website mentions the following:
Obviously, the visuals have been given a facelift too. The PS5 remake is set to launch at some point next year.
Professor Layton and the Curious Village debuted as a Nintendo DS game in 2008, and released to critical acclaim as an excellent puzzle experience. It's got an 85 rating on Metacritic, and 18 years ago, our sister site Nintendo Life awarded the game a 9/10, concluding:
