This particular brand of intentionally difficult, rage-inducing platformers typically task you with climbing up tricky terrain and harsh environments, with one poorly-judged jump sending you falling back down where you came from.
In Where the Seeds Fall, you're not heading up, you're heading down, and while there's still a sense of peril as you leap from platform to platform, it seems to be a calmer experience overall.
The game casts you as a soldier residing in the branches of the World Tree, high above the blighted surface of the planet. You come across a young kid branded as a Fell Child — a bad omen expelled from society — and go against your orders, choosing to escort them down to terra firma.
The adventure lasts around three hours, according to the reveal trailer, and during that time you'll jump to lower platforms and ledges in your mission to reach the surface.
Some jumps will be too high to make safely, which is where seeds come into play. You can throw down a seed and it'll sprout a small area that'll cushion your landing, allowing you to take some big leaps of faith.
After finishing the main story, Where the Seeds Fall will provide you with additional levels and challenges to beat, such as time trials.
It looks like a pleasant game with some fun ideas — I think it'll be worth checking out, especially if it only takes a few hours.
