Graveyard Keeper 2 is fairly different from its predecessor in several ways, but most importantly, it introduces Perks. These are a new way to improve your character and give them special upgrades.
A lot of the perks feel very focused, which isn’t a bad thing, but that means you may feel like getting one isn’t always the best choice. With how many there are, you can pretty easily put yourself into an early hole if you’re not careful in this cozy game.
This guide will give you some information on Perks and how to get them, along with which ones you should get for yourself. An argument can always be made for any of the Perks to be gotten, but that will really depend on where you feel you need the most help.
Getting Perks is surprisingly easy, or well, the concept is at least. To earn a Perk Point, you’ll need to complete Inspirations, which are challenges related to various skills in the game.
These can be simple things like "Mine X amount of Copper," or "Craft X number of Copper items." You’ll find yourself completing these in pretty quick succession early on in the game, but that won’t be all you need to get those Perk Points.
Unfortunately, unlocking the harder Inspirations after completion requires a certain amount of Faith. This can be incredibly limiting in the early stages of the game, as Faith is a limited currency.
To earn a Perk Point, you’ll need to complete a certain number of Inspirations. Each one will, at minimum, cost one Faith after the first level of Inspiration. This means that you’ll be spending a lot of Faith very quickly to unlock these Perks with no way to reorganize them once they’re bought.
Some perks are unlocked from completing certain Inspiration challenges, like the Farmer Perk.
