Destiny 2's free Project Sunrise mod now includes Season Passes and Artifact Perks. Destiny 2 has been left in limbo by Sony and Bungie, as the looter-shooter is not being updated, but it's not in maintenance mode either. In fact, Bungie had to disable some armor sets in the game, even new ones added with the Monument of Triumph update, because the company no longer has a dedicated team or resources to allocate to the game. Yet, the game still has around 30,000 concurrent players on Steam daily, even almost three months after the June 9 update.
For those who are still playing, Destiny 2 has an unobtainable god roll available for free until September 1, after which it will be gone. Bungie has yet to release a final TWID post, and the official Destiny 2 Team account on Twitter hinted at possible future fixes, should remaining staff have the time to implement them. While the game may be dead in terms of new content, the community keeps on delivering. Now, Project Sunrise is making incredible progress, making Season Passes and Artifact perks work.
The free mod called Project Sunrise aims to add old Season Passes and Artifacts to Destiny 2, with one of the devs showcasing progress on Twitter. The dev, Twitter user Nyxaraaaa, shared two separate posts highlighting each new addition. Considering that Project Sunrise was conceived as an exploration mod for locations within the content vault, the ability to have working quests, achievements, rewards, loadouts, and now even Season Passes and Artifacts is incredible. Even more so when considering that this mod is not funded and is volunteer-based, but still managed to add a playable Destiny 2 Leviathan Raid and other locations from the content vault.

Project Sunrise is also progressing very fast, with the core mod launching just over two weeks ago. Destiny 2 Project Sunrise only had content vault locations on launch with no content, permanent loadouts, NPCs, quests, etc., whereas now, it's progressing so fast that it might become the full game in just a couple of months. Obviously, fans shouldn't expect to keep all they earn through the mod on the live servers, so if an old, currently unavailable Season Pass is unlocked and its contents with it, everything will only be available within the mod. Still, this promises a faithful experience for those who missed Season of Arrivals or even previous seasons.
It won't be long before Destiny 2 brings back old content vault missions through Project Sunrise, and Nyxaraaaa already has quests from Shadowkeep working within the mod. Season of Arrivals is often considered a very good season, despite marking the end of an era by passing the torch to Beyond Light and the start of content vaulting.
In an era with no new Destiny content, even a project that brings back something that was considered lost media is very much needed. This is not the only project aiming to do something of the sort, though, as a new Destiny 1 PC port is in the works by a different fan.
