Sung Jinwoo Is Getting A New God Power In New Solo Leveling Release

Sung Jinwoo is the iconic protagonist of the Solo Leveling series, which went global following its TV anime release by Aniplex and A-1 Pictures in January 2024. In the modern anime era, Jinwoo is one of the most exciting main characters, and much of that is down to the overwhelming strength that he acquired after entering the Double Dungeon in the first segment of the story. Through the power of the System, Jinwoo gained a unique ability that allows him to level up and grow stronger while everyone else around him struggles to grow unless they experience a reawakening.

Despite Jinwoo's current strength after the events of Jeju Island, he still has a long way to go, and he is set to acquire brand-new power-ups in the upcoming Solo Leveling project. Solo Leveling: Beyond the System will see him reach the Double Dungeon once more, and here, we will see a brand-new version of him, with new powers that will take him to sky-high levels. In the new Solo Leveling release, Jinwoo will finally receive the Black Heart from Ashborn, and through its powers, he will go on to unlock the Ruler's Authority as well, reaching god-level powers by the end.

Solo Leveling’s second season showed us the ultimate showdown between Jinwoo and the Ant King, as it ended its run over a year ago in May 2025. On July 5, 2026, over a year later, at Anime Expo 2026, we finally got a long-awaited update about the future of the Solo Leveling series. For months, fans all over the world were wondering what was in store for the franchise.

Now, it has been confirmed to us that a massive theatrical movie release is officially in the works. A-1 Pictures have revealed that this next movie is known as “Solo Leveling: Beyond the System,” and we also received a pre-production trailer and a key visual. Given the title of the movie and the glimpses we've seen from it, we are certain that, in this movie, we will see Jinwoo’s return to the Double Dungeon, covering an arc where our protagonist will have to face his very first challenge once again and, this time, conquer it.

Solo Leveling's upcoming release will see Jinwoo faced with the true villain looming in the shadows, whom we know as the Architect — the individual responsible for creating the System. The Architect’s plan, from the very beginning, was to turn Jinwoo into a vessel for Ashborn, the true Shadow Monarch. Ashborn intended to use Jinwoo to come back once more. However, during the events of the Return to the Double Dungeon arc, Ashborn had a change of heart, and he chose to give his powers to Jinwoo instead.

Jinwoo’s upcoming battle against the Architect is certainly not going to be easy, but it'll also result in a new power-up for him that we're all eagerly waiting to see. Through Ashborn’s actions, Jinwoo will be granted the core of his powers, called the Black Heart. Upon acquiring the Black Heart, Jinwoo will immediately grow in power. Specifically, this heart grants him practically infinite mana reserves, allowing him to go all out without the need to worry about running out of fuel. It allowed him to rise victorious in the battle against the Architect, and it sets up yet another power-up for him, which we will surely see immediately after.

The fight against the Architect will allow Jinwoo to reach new heights of power. All the Solo Leveling fans who have read the manhwa are eagerly waiting to see Jinwoo receive his Black Heart power-up, granted directly by Ashborn, but it will certainly not be the only one. In Return to the Double Dungeon, Jinwoo also taps into a powerful ability straight from the Rulers of the Solo Leveling world itself. This ability is known as Ruler's Authority.

Previously in Solo Leveling, Jinwoo had unlocked a lesser version of this power known as Ruler's Hand via a Rune stone. This power was first unlocked in Season 1 after he defeated Igris. With Ruler's Hand, Jinwoo only gained very basic telekinetic abilities, but Ruler's Authority is a power that can even be used against characters as powerful as the Monarchs. Ruler's Authority has a larger radius and greater power output. In the Return to the Double Dungeon arc, it allows Jinwoo to attack the God statues all at once and deal damage on a larger scale, and this will be brilliantly showcased in the upcoming Beyond the System movie as well.
