Avatar: Seven Havens premieres this week, introducing us to the first new Avatar in over 10 years. Original creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko returned for the 2D series, which follows a new Avatar, Pavi, over 200 years after The Legend of Korra. That’s around 300 years after the events of The Last Airbender.
Seven Havens will be streaming exclusively on Paramount+, now under the Skydance banner. The full series is slated for 26 half-hour episodes, just like the good ol’ days. However, those episodes will be split into two “Books,” the Avatar version of seasons.
The first three episodes of Book 1 will premiere on October 9. Subsequent episodes will be released in batches every Friday, so all 13 episodes of the Seven Havens will be streaming by the end of October.

As mentioned, the series will be streaming exclusively on Paramount+. Previous Avatar shows have eventually been released on DVD and Blu-ray, but that seems less likely for Seven Havens in the current Paramount era.

As for what to expect from the show, Seven Havens follows the usual Avatar tradition by picking up with, well, a new Avatar. The star of the new animated series is a young earthbender named Pavi.
Korra picked up less than a century after The Last Airbender, entering an era of industrialization in an otherwise recognizable version of the Four Nations. Seven Havens, in contrast, jumps over 200 years into the future.
