Cygames updated the Products section of the Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising site to confirm the Free Edition access will be ending on November 1, 2026. This is a free version of the game only available for the PS4, PS5, and PC versions of the title. No explanation appeared to explain the decision.
As the name suggests, the Free Edition essentially acts as a trial of sorts. People are able to use a handful of characters, which shifts regularly, to test out a handful of mode. So someone could test out Arcade, Training, or online Versus. It also works like many demos, as the save file you make here can be carried over to the full game.

In the meantime, Cygames is still supporting the Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising Free Edition up until support ending. The characters for September 17-24, 2026 just appeared. The three base-game characters available are Gran, Djeeta, and Beelzebub, and the two DLC characters included are Lucilius and Sandalphon.
