Update [Thu 24th Sep 2026, 3:15pm]: I’ve now received the release date press release for BeamNG.drive, and while it doesn’t offer any additional information on price and pre-orders, it does confirm that the base PS5 version will use FSR 3.0 upscaling while the PS5 Pro will leverage PSSR.
That means you should expect excellent image quality on the PS5 Pro in particular.
The PS5 version will also include a brand new vehicle on day one and split-screen support.
However, there’ll be no mod support on Sony’s console at launch.
“Mod support for PlayStation will not be available at launch: supporting mods on console is a unique challenge, and while the possibilities are being explored, the timing and scope cannot be confirmed at this stage,” the press release reads.
“Mod authoring tools, such as the World Editor, are not currently planned for PlayStation.”
