The Blood of Dawnwalker is a freeform vampiric RPG that does everything possible to make its unusual time-based questing feel frictionless, resulting in an adventure that's not as interesting as it feels like it should be. Even vampiric abilities are defanged with little in the way of moral choices. More interesting for its folkloric world, this is an historic adventure that constantly stops me from getting immersed, though I'll always love sucking blood.
Directional combat can work well in duels
Hands-off exploration is mostly respected
Time system for quests creates odd pacing
Vampire powers not leveraged much in RPG mechanics
Many activities are dull and repetitive

Time is always passing in The Blood of Dawnwalker. Time is also always static in The Blood of Dawnwalker. In this vampiric RPG (vrakhiri in the parlance of the game), recently-turned half-vampire 'Dawnwalker' Coen is less concerned with managing his supply of blood from the living than he is thumbing his time tokens like chips at a casino. With 30 days on the clock until his family and village are slain in a blood magic coronation by Vale Sangora's new, invasive vampire overlord Brencis, you have to consider which quests you want to spend time on.
