The Duality Stone is the best Tarstone for the Axe & Dagger and Axatana in Mortal Shell 2, and players can get it relatively early on by going to the Ravaged Tomb dungeon in the Ruins of Nochte. This dungeon is right past the Citadel of Penance, and it is very close to where you can get Smert. Thankfully, the dungeon itself is pretty simple, and while the enemies in Nochte can hit pretty hard, they're fairly easy to avoid. Here's where you can get this dual-wielding Tarstone in Mortal Shell 2.
To get the Duality Stone, you'll first need to open the entrance to the Citadel of Penance by beating the Bloodcursed Lithopod and getting the Citadel Gate Lever. This miniboss is found just south of the Gloomshade Grove Beacon — just drop into the pond below, then make your way to the entrance of the Ravaged Hideout dungeon.
Once you get the lever, open the gate to the Citadel of Penance, then follow the path to your left. Go to the bridge guarded by pairs of stone throwers and halberd-wielding knights, then jump off the ledge to your right. There's a bone gate at the bottom that leads to Baghead's camp, and beyond that, there's another bone gate that leads to the outskirts of Nochte. Take the bone gate exit to your right if you want to get to the Ruins of Nochte faster.
Clear the enemies if you can, then keep following the main path until you find a closed gate. Pull the lever next to it, and you'll find the entrance to the Ravaged Tomb to your right. Alternatively, use the nearby elevator to reach the Nochtean Gate Beacon.
All you need to do in this dungeon is solve a quick puzzle to unlock the gate that leads to the Duality Stone. Press onwards, beat all the enemies you find, then look for a button to the right of a closed gate. Press the button, go through the gate, then hit the stone slab to send it gliding across the room. It will land on the pressure pad that controls the locked gate barring the main path.
Once that's done, follow the corridors until you reach the end of the dungeon. The Duality Stone is in a chest underneath a hanging monster's corpse.
The Duality Stone makes the light attacks of the Axe & Dagger and Axatana weapons strike twice. Not only does this double your damage, but the Duality Stone also gives you twice as many opportunities to land a critical hit. The extra attacks also make enemies easier to stagger, and they make status effects trigger more often.
This is, without a doubt, the best Tartstone to use for dual-wielded weapons in Mortal Shell 2. You can probably make some other Tarstone work to a similar effect, but as far as convenience goes, this is the best option you have if you want to make the game easier without using the Slayer Seal.
