It all came in a somewhat 'blink-and-you'll-miss-it' sizzle reel in the 40th anniversary Direct, but Nintendo has a lot of merch in store to mark Ocarina of Time's Switch 2 release.
Aside from the Special Edition console and Pro Controller, there are also two new amiibo launching in 2027. The Young Link and Young Zelda figures show the iconic pair in their new art style, taking a seat and holding Navi and an Ocarina, respectively.
Scanning these Ocarina of Time amiibo will unlock special in-game masks for Link based on the characters' initial polygonal N64 appearances.
There's still no release date on these just yet outside of the vague '2027' window, but we'll be keeping an eye out for more info.
That's not all, mind you. Nintendo is also releasing two special ocarinas to mark the occasion. You'll be able to play one of these yourself, just like in-game Link, and there's even an electric edition from Hori, which plays each note at the press of a button. Remember, you can play the in-game ocarina by humming or whistling the tune you're after into the Switch 2 mic, so you'll be able to control Link's in-game tunes from your very own instrument — come on, that's cool.
There's also another Ocarina of Time-themed LEGO set on the horizon, with Nintendo giving us our first look at the upcoming 'Link & Epona' build. This 1,750-piece set sees Adult Link and his noble steed in their iconic rear-leg pose and will launch at some point in Spring 2027.
And remember those Hasbro toys? We've got them to look forward to, too! Alongside the three Link, Zelda and Ganondorf figures, Nintendo is releasing the 'Hasbro Legend of Zelda Electronic Master Sword', which stands at 27 inches long and boasts over 15 touch- and motion-activated sounds. This one also arrives (you guessed it) in Spring 2027.
Oh yes, and the Nintendo Museum Official Book is getting a special 'Vol. 2' release on 5th November, complete with a Zelda 40th anniversary special feature.
