Fortnite has been not-so-subtly teasing a big secret collab for Fortnitemares, and it's finally been confirmed to be Five Nights at Freddy's, just like we all guessed.
Over the past few months, Fortnite has been granting quite a few long-requested collaborations, especially when it comes to video games. We've had Sonic the Hedgehog, Kingdom Hearts, Mega Man, and more in the Override season, and even though that season seems to be nearly done with, the crossovers are only just beginning.
That's because Fortnite is hosting its annual Halloween event, Fortnitemares, in just a few weeks, and we've already had teases for plenty of the franchises that will show up. Easily the most teased of all of them, though, is Five Nights at Freddy's, which fans have been wanting for a really long time, and Epic has very obviously been gearing up for. Now, it's finally been confirmed.
Ever since Fortnitemares first started being teased, it's been apparent that Five Nights at Freddy's was going to be involved somehow. That was guessed from the pizzeria clearly being on The Island during the Override season, but the Halloween event teasers referenced it plenty, from the use of security cameras to some choice dialogue.
Today, Epic decided to stop with all the blatant teasing and just outright confirm the Five Nights at Freddy's collab with a new trailer. The trailer confirms that Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria will be a location on the map, and will house Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, who all seem to function as bosses during the event that can be defeated and taken over.
The skins appear to be reactive and take damage during the match, which is a cool way to include the withered variants. That could just be the boss versions, though.
It's honestly one of the more impressive collaborations that Epic has done for Fortnite recently, and that's coming from a massive Kingdom Hearts nerd. All four animatronics look fantastic, and the teaser for the crossover is creepier than anything that's come out of FNAF in some time. Fortnitemares begins on October 11, so it looks like we don't have to wait long until the long-awaited collab is here.
