What Is Trick's Best Build In Star Wars Zero Company

What Is Trick's Best Build In Star Wars Zero Company

There are a lot of operators in Star Wars Zero Company. From ruthless bounty hunters to Astromechs to run-of-the-mill scoundrels just trying to make some credits. One of the most unique (and coolest) is Trick, who is a clone trooper who was injured during an operation that went wrong with the player character, Hawks.

One of the very first operators under your employ, Trick is a surprisingly strong character throughout all stages of the game. This is due to the flexibility of his specialization and comically busted Talent that makes him very hard to kill. If you're looking to rock Trick throughout all of Zero Company's story, here's what you need to know about using this operator.

In the early game, Trick is going to fill a bruiser and damage role on your team. His main job during a fight will be to deal with tankier targets or close the gap to capitalize on his strong melee skills. Specifically, both Strength (passive) and Brutal Strike (melee action) are great here, as they give Trick a not insignificant amount of close-range damage while allowing him to inflict the Dazing status effect on enemies he hits.

Trick is also great at dealing with large groups of enemies and destroying their cover via his Rocket Strike (special action). For 10 Advantage, Trick fires a rocket at a marked location that damages everyone in the radius, blows up their cover, and can make them Vulnerable when fully upgraded. It's a comically strong move that is especially deadly on battle droids since they often group up in large numbers.

Tying this all together is For My Brothers, which is one of the best Talents (if not the best) in the entire game. How this works is that when Trick is fully downed for the first time, he will instantly stand back up with half health. As you upgrade this, Trick will eventually come back with full health, no Injury, and even get an AP point when he's up.

Given that death is permanent for operators in Zero Company, having someone who can ignore the first time they are downed is so strong. This allows you to be a bit more reckless with Trick, as he can rush in, punch and shoot a bunch of enemies, and stand back up if you get unlucky.

When upgrading Trick, focus on improving For My Brothers and his melee abilities first. Rocket Strike is already strong off the bat, so it won't need a ton of love until a little bit later into the story. In terms of weapons, I recommend either the Repeater or Blaster Rifle. The former gives Trick a nice amount of burst damage, while the Blaster Rifle is a little less AP-dependent, which pairs nicely with Brutal Strike. It's really your choice, but if you want to focus more on melee, then the Blaster Rifle is a better option.

Once you unlock the ability to give Trick a second specialization, the build-crafting really opens up. There are a few routes you can take Trick, such as leaning more into being a brusier/melee character via the Assault class. However, I recommend considering making Trick your team's tank, but selecting the Heavy specialization and leaning more into giving him as much survivability as possible.
