Fable Gets Another 30 Minutes Of Raw Gameplay Footage In New Combat Video

One of the highlights from Xbox's first Gamescom broadcast was an 18-minute gameplay reveal for the massively anticipated RPG Fable. Playground Games gave us a proper look at their 2027 Xbox Game Pass release, including the city of Bowerstone, its questing mechanics, and a couple sections of combat.

Now, we're getting an even deeper look at Fable's combat, thanks to a 30-minute gameplay video posted to YouTube by GameRiot:

"Fable Gameplay recorded at Gamescom. Thanks to Xbox for the Invite - Please be aware this is early footage and using medium pc settings (recommended pc settings)"

The video shows off an early quest titled "Mud and Death". It sees a hammer-wielding protagonist accompany retired hero Humphrey through caves, mines, and fog on their way to Underwall. Along the way, the pair square up to various green-glowing enemies known as the Hollow Folk.

Combat looks slick and punchy. The footage shows a good mix of close, ranged, and magic attacks, as well as slow-mo counters and flashy executions.

As the original poster mentioned, the video was captured using medium PC settings, so we're yet to see how the game handles on Xbox hardware. Still, judging by your early feedback on yesterday's gameplay reveal, most of you seem pretty positive about Fable ahead of its release on February 23, 2027.
