Jujutsu Kaisen underwent a massive timeskip following the release of chapter 271 on September 30, 2024. This timeskip saw the story Jump 68 years into the future and took us to a completely new era after the conclusion of the Shinjuku Showdown battle. This new continuation was titled “Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo” by Gege Akutami himself. In this new time period, Gege focused extensively on new and powerful sorcerers, and a new “Strongest” finally emerged.
In the final volume release of Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo, Gege Akutami officially confirmed to us that Yuji Itadori, the former protagonist of the original series, is now the new Strongest. He has now officially surpassed both Gojo and Sukuna in terms of overall power level as well.
Yuji Itadori made his official comeback in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 19, which was officially released on January 25, 2026. In this chapter, we received our first glimpse of Yuji's powers as he unleashed the upgraded Blood Manipulation to subdue an entire building full of powerful human sorcerers as well as Simurians. His strength was absolutely immense, but it was only a fraction of what he could actually do in combat. In Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 20, which was officially released on February 1, 2026, in the subsequent issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, Yuji Itadori showcased his advanced mastery over Shrine. It was officially confirmed in the volume release of Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo that Yuji's Dismantle was significantly stronger than that of Ryomen Sukuna.

When utilizing a single Dismantle slash, Yuji could generate enough power to take out a significant portion of Tokyo. This means that, when going all out, Yuji can easily level a city, if not more. His mastery over Shrine far surpasses that of Ryomen Sukuna, and this was once again showcased when he fought against Mahito towards the end of the series. Combined with the power of the Blood Manipulation that he showcased, as well as the ability to hit Black Flashes at will, Yuji Itadori is now on a completely different level compared to the original user of Shrine.
