With Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2's release being reported for Summer 2027, most fans expect it to top anime charts all over the world. Once again, this time the competition is going to be a lot harder, and this is especially because Demon Slayer is going to be competing with a juggernaut of shonen anime, which is unarguably the biggest of them all — One Piece. Usually, One Piece doesn't get any massively popular anime movies, and this is largely because these movies are always non-canon and don't add anything to the main story. As such, fan interest in these movies is usually low. But One Piece Film: God Valley, which was officially announced on One Piece Day 2026 on August 23, is different. This time around, One Piece is releasing a canon movie that adapts the God Valley Incident from the manga and adds a unique twist to it.
The God Valley Incident features one of the biggest wars in the entirety of One Piece, and fans from all over the world will flock to theaters to watch this release. Earlier this week, it was officially confirmed that One Piece Film: God Valley will feature never-before-seen battles as well as extensions, which have been worked on by the staff together with Eiichiro Oda.
It was reported that Oda did not have enough time to flesh out all the battles in the God Valley Incident properly in the manga, and these battles, which likely stem from Oda's own drafts, will be an important part of the God Valley movie.
