A massive free DLC update titled Extended Operations has arrived for 007 First Light, adding New Game+, Photo Mode, new missions, and hundreds of fixes. 007 First Light is IO Interactive's first original James Bond adventure following a young Bond as he works toward earning his 00 status.
IO Interactive has continued expanding 007 First Light since its May launch, sticking to its one-year roadmap detailed in June. Earlier updates added new TacSim missions, weapons, outfits, technical improvements, and hundreds of fixes, and the studio has repeatedly said continued post-launch support is part of its plans. Extended Operations represents a much bigger step forward, adding even more playable content and several features designed to give players several reasons to return after finishing the campaign.
IO Interactive launched Extended Operations as a completely free DLC update for 007 First Light owners on October 1. The expansion's biggest additions include New Game+, Photo Mode, a new 00 difficulty, the Jungle Heist TacSim Operation, and the Valhalla Protocol TacSim Activity, alongside new weapons, outfits, improved weapon animations, and more than 700 bug fixes and improvements. New Game+ unlocks only after completing the campaign and now lets players change Bond's outfit using the Mission Wardrobe while also switching between previously unlocked gadgets during missions. The new 00 difficulty also requires campaign completion and makes enemies more perceptive and dangerous while reducing the gadget resources players receive. Extended Operations arrives as update version 1.3.0 for all platforms.
The newly added New Game+ should give returning players considerably more freedom than they had during their initial playthrough thanks to some neat additions. The new Mission Wardrobe allows players to select any available outfit from the Journal and apply it to any mission when restarting from a chosen checkpoint. Meanwhile, Gadget on Demand lets players freely swap between currently unlocked gadgets during a mission rather than waiting until the next chapter to change their loadout. Progression limits still apply, though, as players must unlock Q's gadgets in the campaign before using them. Combined with the tougher 00 difficulty, the new options should make repeat runs through the campaign in 007 First Light feel different without simply removing every restriction.

Extended Operations also expands TacSim with one new Operation and one new Activity. Operation Jungle Heist sends Bond back to The Pearl Hotel in Vietnam to steal documents from a villa safe, with IO Interactive emphasizing replayability and a sandbox-style ability to tackle the objective in different ways. The Valhalla Protocol activity takes a different approach, putting players behind the wheel of the Aston Martin Valhalla, which comes equipped with machine guns and missile launchers for a score-based driving challenge in Slovakia. The update also adds the Storm 12 Gauge, Squire Marksman Rifle, and three new outfits called Observant Spy, Leisure Beam, and First Class.
This update is also a substantial technical cleanup, with IO Interactive listing more than 700 fixes and improvements covering crashes, progression blockers, clipping, audio, localization, UI, achievements, camera behavior, AI, and mission-specific problems. Weapon-handling animations have been refined across reloads, aiming transitions, swaps, and throws, while MI6 HQ has even gained Jack the Bulldog near TacSim, complete with the ability to pet him. IO Interactive says more improvements and content are already in development, making Extended Operations another major step in the studio's ongoing support for 007 First Light.
