New Nintendo Creator's Voice Vid Goes Behind The Scenes On Onimusha: Way Of The Sword

Nintendo is continuing its trend of releasing behind-the-scenes Creator's Voice videos for its third-party Switch 2 support, and today, we're getting a closer look at Onimusha: Way of the Sword.

In this seven-minute video, director Satoru Nihei walks us through the game's creation, touching on how the team made the sword fights feel so badass, and how the contrast between hero Miyamoto Musashi and villain Sasaki Ganryu came to be.

It also gives us a closer look at the Switch 2's optional motion controls scheme, and the rig that the team at Capcom used to scan willing employees' faces to be used as in-game NPCs. We even get to see Nihei-san give the face scanner a go — "I thought about including [my face] in Onimusha," he says, "but I passed because it's too embarrassing".

We had a great time with Way of the Sword on Switch 2, calling it "a wonderfully paced adventure that combines horror, action, exploration, and a surprising amount of comedy to great effect" in our review. The full game launches later this week on 4th September, and there's even a free demo on the eShop that you can check out right now.
