As you explore the nooks and crannies of Minotaur Island, the perilous landscape of this isle holds many secrets for Sophia and her companion, Leni. There are various charms to find to boost her attributes, as well as many Golden Era artifacts, which exist to add another collectible requirement to your possible 100 percent/Platinum Trophy of Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy.
One of these secrets is also the handful of blades discovered throughout each Hero's Grave. These ancient tombs lie off the beaten path and reward Sophia with a new weapon, each with its own unique techniques. This list covers the best blades so you know which one to use, even if you manage to find them all.
Disclaimer: The Rusty Sword and Hero's Blade are not mentioned, as the former is a starting blade that doesn't feature any unique properties, and the latter is pretty much a pre-order bonus cosmetic that has the same exact Technique as the Falchion.
Look, while the Broken Spear gets the style points for being a literal spearhead that we're using against enemies, that technique is just so freaking useless and bad; I genuinely mean it. You find this blade during Chapter 9: Night Has Come. Sprint Assault lets you pierce enemy guards and shields to inflict damage, but I promise you that damage is definitely not worth it to keep spamming on them to take them out of the equation. It barely leaves a dent, and you're much better off parrying and using another blade.
The Kopis is actually the first blade that you find with Leni in Chapter 4. And while the game pretty much hands you this blade without solving any puzzle, it's the one that I pretty much didn't even use all that much, mainly because of the trait. Keep in mind, I was playing on hard difficulty, where Sophia has only two health bars and the enemies are slightly more aggressive.
The Kopis features the Stagger Blow technique, where the last hit in a combo inflicts a powerful blow that deals stun damage. In most encounters where I was dealing with multiple enemies, there wasn't much opening for me to land a full combo, which ended up making the technique feel redundant. Maybe in boss fights or some lighter combat encounters, this can work great, but for me, it was just landing a hit or two and then bracing for a parry or an evasion.
The Khopesh is the fourth blade you'll find in Resonance during Chapter 7: Death It Sowed. And while the description makes it out to be truly one of the oddest-looking blades in Sophia's arsenal, it's quite spot-on since the technique is rather bare-bones, at least in my eyes. The Khopesh has the Deep Bleed technique, where the last hit in the combo inflicts a serious wound that deals damage over time.
