The Artificer's Tower in Diablo 4 is where players can compete against each other to see who has the best build around. The Tower's leaderboard counts the Top 1000 players with the quickest clear time for a randomized dungeon run, but there's more to this than just glory. Even if you're not interested in competing with the best players in Diablo 4, you can still earn various rewards just by casually trying it out. Here's what you can expect from the game's leaderboard system, including the stuff you can earn and the requirements you need to meet before you can compete.
You can take on the Tower's challenge solo or in a group. Solo challengers are divided by class (i.e. Barbarians will only be ranked against other Barbarians), party players are split depending on how many they are in the group, and Hardcore and non-Hardcore characters are separated as well, just to keep things a little fair.
Your only goal here is to complete dungeon run as quickly as you can. It works much like an ordinary Pit run, but you only have 10 minutes to complete the entire thing. The faster you clear, the better your ranking will be across the entirety of Diablo 4's playerbase.
Once you load into the dungeon, slay enemies to build up a progress bar. Fill this bar up to summon the boss, and kill it to end the run.
Pylons grant players short-term buffs that will help them zoom through the Tower faster than usual. They work much like Shrines, but their buffs are stronger, and you need to destroy the Pylon's case first before you can get its powers.
By placing somewhere within the top 1000, you'll get a special title as well as a halo effect that you can equip on your character. The exact reward you get depends on your leaderboard placement within the following brackets:
The higher your placement, the grander your reward, but only one person can claim the top spot. Completing Tower Tiers for the first time will reward you with points that you can use to redeem a loot box from the Artificer's Stash in Cerrigar. Look for a pyramid-shaped chest to the left of the town's Obelisk.
