The Pokemon Company has officially released a new Mystery Gift into the wild in celebration of Pokemon Worlds. As fans know, Pokemon Worlds is an annual event where the title of World Champion is determined with tournaments across core games, including Pokemon TCG, Pokemon GO, Pokemon Unite, and a video game championship (VGC). Sometimes, there's news about the Pokemon IP and its video games at the event, too.
Pokemon Worlds changes time to time, but fans in San Francisco, California, are able to attend the 2026 event this year from August 28 to August 30. This is a pretty big event, too, because Pokemon GO will be changing its competitive format by next year, while Pokemon Unite will also be leaving. Depending on the reveal, release, and Pokemon Worlds 2027, it's possible that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are replaced by the Gen 10 games Pokemon Winds and Waves. Of course, that remains to be seen next year, and right now fans can celebrate with a new Mystery Gift.
In celebration of Pokemon Worlds, Pokemon Champions players can submit a new Mystery Gift code (seen below) for 5,000 Victory Points. These can be then used to recruit new Pokemon, customize moves, swap abilities and natures, allocate state points, and buy battle items like Mega Stones. However, it's worth noting that this code will expire on August 30.
While it makes sense for Pokemon Champions to receive this new Mystery Gift code, many fans are no doubt still waiting on even more content to finish filling out the game. It's added some Pokemon and features since launch, but it's still not what many fans expected for a competitive Pokemon multiplayer game. As it stands, Pokemon Champions sits at a 67 Mixed or Average Metascore on Metacritic, while it's marginally lower for user reviews (5.0 with 250 submitted reviews).

In GameRant's Pokemon Champions review, we wrote that its shortcomings are easy enough to tolerate "because its monetization model doesn't seem to be predatory or egregious, like what we see with many other free-to-play games. It delivers fun Pokemon battles that look great, but the game's biggest issue is the lack of content. Anyone that needs a little more than endless Pokemon battles isn't going to get a lot out of Pokemon Champions, but at least those that do decide to play it regularly won't have to break the bank to enjoy it."
