The Argos Gaming Event runs from September 23 to October 6, with plenty on offer for families looking for new ways to play together.
One option worth checking out is the Nex Playground, a motion-controlled console designed around active family games rather than traditional controllers.
Available from Argos for £242.99 with code GAMING10, it uses a built-in camera to track movement and turn your living room into the play space.
It also comes with five games included, while an optional Play Pass opens up a much larger catalogue featuring familiar names including Bluey, Barbie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Peppa Pig, and more.
Unlike a traditional console, Nex Playground doesn’t require controllers or wearable trackers. Instead, its wide-angle camera follows your movements, so you play by moving your body in front of the TV.
Up to four people can play at the same time, making it particularly suited to family game nights, playdates, or simply getting everyone off the sofa for a while.
Setup is also straightforward. The compact console connects to a TV or projector using HDMI, and at just 7.6cm on each side, it is small enough to move between rooms or take with you.
You don’t need a Play Pass to start using the console, as Nex Playground includes five games out of the box, and they are the perfect place to start.
