A LEGO fan is showing off an incredible diorama of Cthulhu, featuring an eerie ritual chamber alongside the imposing Lovecraftian entity. The impressive LEGO build was constructed entirely from scratch by its creator, not based on any pre-existing guides or official LEGO kits.
The building brick toys have inspired legions of creative fans for more than 70 years, since they originally debuted in 1949. LEGO has produced billions of miniature bricks, which fans can use to build everything from intricate scenes to massive, detailed statues. The company has often teamed up with some of the most famous pop culture brands for official themed LEGO sets, partnering with everything from Star Wars and Harry Potter to Pokemon and Minecraft. Now, one fan has used a combination of pieces from many different kits to assemble an incredible scene featuring the mythical Cthulhu.
Reddit user Laurgo shared their impressive LEGO Cthulhu build on the main LEGO subreddit. The build featured a sizable statue of Cthulhu emerging from a pool of dark water, with a bright white ritual chamber and a pentagram located in front of the Lovecraftian entity. The ritual chamber features intricate structures at the sides of the main summoning circle, with a group of five minifigures positioned around the pentagram as if performing the ritual. The post features multiple images of the Cthulhu statue from different angles, showing off the variety of pieces used to construct the squid-like creature, even displaying the back of the statue.
The comments on the post were filled with impressed fans, along with some more insight about the statue from its creator. Laurgo revealed that the statue was created for an upcoming exposition at the Civilization Museum of Quebec, which they said will be held at the end of November. Many fans particularly praised the inventive use of different parts for the Cthulhu creation, with some recognizing parts from other kits like the arms from a LEGO set for The Incredible Hulk. Fans strongly requested that the user make their build available on sites like Rebrickable, so that others can recreate it for themselves.
