After helping Lacra find Isbrand and finishing her quest in Anachora, Lacra will be ready to face Brencis with you and finish The Blood of Dawnwalker. However, before you do that, if you pay Lacra another visit, you'll also have the option to ask her about her plan, which will trigger another quest called The Night of Horrors.
This is actually a romance quest for Lacra, so it's mostly up to you whether you want to complete it. However, you will get a few worthwhile benefits, and you can opt out of the actual romance if you want to do the quest without progressing the relationship. If you do, then once you reach the end, you'll have a decision to make.
While you aren't initially seeking one out, by the time you reach the ancient Vrakhiri's corpse, you'll also find a Mandrake. Lacra will freak out as soon as she spots it and tell Coen that it's an extremely rare phenomenon that they were incredibly lucky to stumble upon.
According to Lacra, it's also known as the Flower of Anachora and somehow contains the essence of the powerful Vrakhiri from whose remains it blooms. Consuming it will naturally transfer some of this power to you, but you don't get much more information beyond that.
Naturally, she'll want to eat the mandrake, but she'll encourage you to do the same. Actually, she'll encourage you to do it first. With little information about what exactly will happen to you when you do, you'll ultimately have to decide whether to go for it. Of course, there is no pausing to save here, so unless you plan to backtrack to your last one, you'll have to accept whatever you decide.
If you do drink, Lacra will follow right behind you, and you'll both enter what almost appears to be a drunken state from the power flowing through you. From there, Lacra will then encourage you to drink from her and have some fun.
If you accept, this will begin Lacra's romance scene. It's one of the spiciest romance scenes in the game, but it's also pretty intense and involves a lot of slapping, scratching, and biting, so if that's not your thing, then I recommend just skipping over it.
Once it's over, Coen will wake up alone in the cave, but you'll have a few new enhancements thanks to the Mandrake. Eating the Mandrake will ultimately give you access to Mandrake Ward on your Vampirism Skill Tree. You can only unlock this skill through this method, so if you don't eat the Mandrake here, you essentially forfeit Mandrake Ward.
