Rockstar Games has finally put its own name behind NoPixel V, and it arrived on September 1 with a trailer and a Twitch Drops campaign worth up to GTA$1.5 million attached.
The announcement comes after NoPixel spent the better part of a year quietly building this partnership. Founder Koil handled every update through Discord, and Rockstar nodded along in silence, even after the closed beta date first leaked out last month. Today, Rockstar made it more than official.
The trailer went live at 5 pm BST on September 1, a week ahead of the closed beta, and gave fans their first proper look at the rebuilt server.
Rockstar paired it with a Twitch Drops campaign running from September 8 through September 30. Anyone watching NoPixel V streams in that window can claim up to GTA$1.5 million in-game cash and a Burger Shot Tracksuit cosmetic, and the reward covers regular viewers and first-timers alike.
Access to the actual beta stays tight, as the invite list still runs to roughly 450 content creators and established roleplayers with more phases promised down the line. Koil addressed the limited rollout back in August, calling it “a genuine reset and a fresh start for the NoPixel whitelist” while confirming that NoPixel Public and NoPixel 4.0 will keep running exactly as they are for anyone who doesn’t make the cut.
The whole arrangement traces back to Rockstar’s 2023 acquisition of the team behind FiveM, the framework that has powered NoPixel and nearly every serious GTA roleplay server for years.
It’s a long way from a year ago, when Rockstar first admitted it was backing the NoPixel team in a single quiet tweet. This time, there’s a trailer, a newswire post, and real money on the table.
