Ahead of GTA 6: An Extended Look's worldwide debut on Netflix, Rockstar Games confirms a few gameplay features for GTA 6. It stands to reason than that fans will see some of these GTA 6 features sooner rather than later.
All of these gameplay features began at a place of iteration from Red Dead Redemption 2 or GTA 5, it seems, as Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson confirmed that the team looks back at its previous games "with a critical eye and see where we want to evolve based on what we didn’t do as well as we would have liked to, either because we didn’t have the time, resources or technological capabilities, or in some cases things we just didn’t do as well or consider as fully as we could have."
Rockstar Games has confirmed several new gameplay features for Grand Theft Auto 6 in a cover interview with Dazed magazine (as reported by IGN), which might be surprising except for Rockstar does not seem to be targeting "gamers" with its marketing. This is also evidenced by its Extended Look debut on Netflix.
Either way, among these new features is the ability to eat, work out, and sleep, all which have a specific impact on the GTA 6 co-protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. As expected, eating impacts weight, working out impacts their build and physical stregngth, and not sleeping can affect tiredness and key features. Moreover, Rockstar has now confirmed that GTA 6 character switching works similarly to GTA 5, where players can play as the couple or even split up and play independently.
The core relationship between Jason and Lucia is at the heart of the game, with Dazed reporting that the "repercussions" of their relationship goes deeper than Red Dead's honor system—something fans have already gotten a glimpse of in recent GTA 6 leaks. How that factors in remains to be seen, but it's an exciting time for fans. It also confirmed the long-rumored social media feed.
Setting the unauthorized leaks aside, fans get their first official look at GTA 6 in action on August 27. GTA 6: An Extended Look hits the popular streaming service at 12pm PT/3pm ET, and there will be no going back after that. Fans will no doubt know where they stand on GTA by that point, with it still set to release in November 2026.

While marketing hopefully ramps up considerably afterward, fans can also expect more news to develop on the ongoing GTA 6 leaks. At last report, Take-Two has yet to identify the individual or group responsible, and it's possible their escalation of leaks continues. In other words, the internet is going to become a dangerous place for GTA 6 fans.
