After six months of no major ARC Raiders content updates, Frozen Trail is almost here, and our first glimpse of what's in store did not disappoint. There's a mind-boggling number of new features, including a new map, four new ARC enemies, and movement tech items that will surely have Raiders buzzing with excitement, but potentially the most game-changing addition comes in the form of weapon customization.
When the Frozen Trail update goes live on September 8th, Raiders will have access to a fifth quality level for certain weapons. This will allow players to customize their guns in exciting new ways, such as giving the Rattler incendiary rounds and a 64-bullet magazine, turning the Burletta into a fully-automatic beast, or attaching a scope to the reliable Renegade, just to name a few.
Since the launch of ARC Raiders roughly one year ago, there have been several new guns added to the game, including the Canto, Dolabra, Aphelion, and Rascal, but since then, this dusty dystopian arsenal may have grown stale to some; a major weapon rework has just been revealed, and it's impressive to say the least.
Raiders will now be able to add enhancements and abilities to their guns that will drastically change the way they work. This new system is known as amplified weapons, and it will be available for 15 of the guns currently in the game, with more additions planned for the future.
So how will we amplify our guns? Embark has revealed Raiders are beginning to reclaim their place on the surface with customizable outposts located between the Rust Belt and the mountains. In your newly claimed home away from home, you'll have a new workbench at your disposal that you will use for weapon customization and modding—the research workstation.
Potentially the most game-changing addition comes in the form of weapon customization.
When the research workstation is fully upgraded, Raiders will gain access to a fifth quality level for many of the guns, which in turn unlocks branching enhancements and abilities for each weapon.
