Every new story update to Limbus Company brings something new, be it characters, Identities, or even whole new mechanics in and out of combat. Season 8's delay has promised even more, and the curtain is finally drawn to reveal some of the cleanest presentation and wildest gameplay Limbus Company has seen yet.
Shown in a trailer just released by Project Moon, our foray into N-Corp is accessible immediately after clearing Canto 1, giving new players the opportunity to leap straight into the new content, a very gameplay-first decision from Project Moon. This is likely due to their excitement to unveil an all-new RPG Maker-inspired top-down dungeon crawling mechanic starring Meursault, Dante, and a few shifting Sinners.
Clearly taking inspiration from Fear and Hunger, these off-putting exploratory segments seem packed to the brim with gory bad ends starring Meursault, a grim hint towards his previous work for N-Corp prior to his joining of Limbus Company, perhaps.
Like every season showcase, we got a quick look at two new IDs to open the season based on faceless faction members we'll be fighting throughout Canto 10. Both of the current drops are labeled as members of the Haute Couture, a French term referring to high-end custom fashion.
Fittingly, both Identities depict the Sinners wearing stylish combat clothing, with a Bleed/Tremor split for Ryoshu's Noir Footwear ID, and Bleed/Poise for Ishmael's Boutique du Rouge ID. Bleed/Tremor is a combo we expected to get love since the Mnestic Experience Intervallo, where the faceless N-Corp Goons were sporting the pairing. Bleed/Poise, meanwhile, is a tried-and-true duology that will give Ishmael a place in a few actively supported teams.
These new IDs will be available in a banner on the Canto's launch, while the Battlepass is packed with 4 new EGOs for various sinners. Hong Lu and Rodion both get standalones with their Repudiation and Mirror-Touch Egos respectively, low threat level options likely to assist in getting a battle started.

Meanwhile, Faust and Meursault get the standout EGOs of the pass, Hollow. Both variants are WAW level, and seem to be massive payoff attacks that house some of the most impressive presentation we've seen for EGOs. All the extra time and budget is clearly paying off! Additionally, this pass has 3 new announcers rather than the standard 2. The first is Meursault, while the other two are unknown characters referred to as G.M. Sisphe and Jeanne. Whoever these fresh faces are, they're bound to be important to Meursault's story.
