The main goal of room 204 is to figure out a way to get out due to the door locking Sam inside. To do this, you must figure out the code to the bathroom door by using your CRTV and reading clues around the room.
When you first enter room 204 in the hotel near the beginning of Silent Hill: Townfall, a signal will pop up on your CRTV. Make sure to tune the CRTV device to this signal, as you'll need it to solve this puzzle.
Once you have properly tuned the signal on the CRTV, the video shows a handful of snippets. The snippets that you need to pay attention to are the one with the number 18 and the one with the calendar.
Make sure to keep the number 18 at the back of your head as you'll need it in a moment. As for the snippet of the calendar, if you look close enough, you will notice that the month of January is circled in the upper left corner.
Now that we have January 18 figured out, we now have to find the exact year. Make your way over to the desk across from the bed to find the Room Service Card. Read this note to discover that it says "1996 menu." This is the correct year for the door.
