Ghost of Yotei's Complete Edition update is officially releasing on October 1, and PlayStation has revealed exactly when fans will be able to download it. Along with all of the updates released so far, Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition will add a brand-new story expansion to the action-adventure game, as well as a new single-player survival mode.
Originally released on October 2, 2025, Ghost of Yotei is the standalone sequel to Sucker Punch's 2020 samurai action-adventure title Ghost of Tsushima. Ghost of Yotei received a very warm reception from critics upon its debut last year, with the sequel earning a Top Critic Average of 87 and a critic recommendation score of 94% on OpenCritic. In GameRant's Ghost of Yotei review, Dalton Cooper gave the game a 10/10, calling it a "stunning PS5 exclusive that raises the bar for open world games."
On October 1, Ghost of Yotei will officially receive its Complete Edition upgrade. This paid upgrade will be going live at 9am PT / 12pm ET on October 1. For those unaware, Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition will include the full base game, Ghost of Yotei's Legends multiplayer mode, and all previously available Digital Deluxe Edition bonuses. The main draw of Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition, however, is its new story expansion and survival mode.

Officially titled 'Echoes of Sekigahara', Ghost of Yotei's story expansion will revolve around player-character Atsu stumbling into an old acquaintance that brings back some difficult memories. During the course of the expansion, players will swap between two periods of Atsu's life, with a portion of the DLC taking place during Atsu's time on the mainland, and the rest seeing her explore a valley once controlled by The Snake in the present day. New heavy weapons, armor sets, dyes, and more will be available throughout this expansion.

While Echoes of Sekigahara will expand Ghost of Yotei's story, the upcoming 'Most Wanted' mode included in the Complete Edition will offer a survival experience separate to the main events of the base game. Described as Sucker Punch's "spin on a roguelike," Ghost of Yotei's Most Wanted mode will see players hunting down bounties, earning gameplay perks, and unlocking additional characters with their own set of unique weapon affinities and abilities.
