Square Enix has released a free playable demo for its upcoming RPG, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World, available now on PS5.
A quick trailer shows off what you'll be able to check out:
Launching for PS5 on 3rd December, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World is the first entry in the spinoff series to hit Sony's platforms in over two decades.
It's a monster-collecting RPG that has you befriending various Dragon Quest beasties, raising them, and battling them against enemy creatures in a Pokémon-like fashion.
You can also combine two monsters together to forge a new, stronger one.
In the demo version, you can experience the beginning of the story, and play through to the end of events in Witherwood, which presumably gives you a couple of hours or so to sample the game's systems.
If you play the demo, you'll receive a special item set — plus you can transfer up to eight monsters from your party to the full game on release. Here are the demo bonus items:
It doesn't seem you'll be able to transfer your full save data — just a handful of monsters in your collection.
