Rockstar Games has revealed a lot about the gameplay and world of GTA 6 without actually revealing much about the people behind its characters. GTA 6's earliest marketing has introduced Jason Duval, Lucia Caminos, and a growing group of Leonida residents, while trailers and extended gameplay footage have provided plenty of dialogue to pick apart. Yet for years, the actors responsible for those performances have remained one of the game's biggest mysteries (even if many fans have likely and accurately deduced many of them).
That secrecy has made the GTA 6 cast a particularly interesting part of the game's long marketing campaign. Fans have spent years comparing voices, digging through old credits, and trying to connect performers to the characters shown in Rockstar's trailers. Some of those theories have become widespread enough that certain actors are practically considered identified by the community, such as Manni L Perez as GTA 6's Lucia, but there is a huge difference between a convincing voice match and an actor actually saying they worked on the game.
GTA 6 has two actors who have publicly confirmed their involvement, with Jim Santangeli and Stephen Root both acknowledging that they worked on Rockstar's upcoming open-world game. Santangeli revealed his involvement first, saying during a summer TikTok livestream that he had done a "little small bit" for GTA 6 and describing it as "some cool stuff, but small." Santangeli is known for playing Simon Pearson in Red Dead Redemption 2, making his return to a Rockstar production notable even if his GTA 6 role is apparently limited.

Stephen Root followed months later, confirming his involvement while speaking with the Associated Press. Root said that players are going to see him in GTA 6 and explained that his voice had already given the secret away because so many people recognized him from King of the Hill. His voice has been widely associated with GTA 6 character Brian Heder, one of the characters Rockstar has officially introduced, although the distinction is worth keeping in mind: Root confirmed that he is in GTA 6, while the Brian Heder connection comes from voice identification and outside reporting, not an actor-character credit published by Rockstar.
Rockstar has still not published a complete cast list, nor is it expected to until GTA 6's release date when credits are out in the wild, and the two confirmed performers have revealed their involvement independently rather than through an official announcement. In fact, reporting suggests that Rockstar recently sent actors a reminder of their NDA, implying that Root was not supposed to confirm his role. While many fans are confident in the community-found GTA 6 actors for Jason and Lucia, as many were correct about Brian Heder, fans are still waiting for official confirmation.
For now, then, Jim Santangeli and Stephen Root are the only two GTA 6 actors who have publicly confirmed that they are part of the game. It sounds like it's going to remain this way for a while, even if it's a little surprising that Rockstar doesn't want to roll out the red carpet.
