Star Wars Zero Company has finally been released, which means it's time to grab your blaster, load up on Thermal Detonators, and get ready to dismantle any droids you come across. In this tactical strategy game, you oversee a mercenary outfit known as Zero Company during the end of the Clone Wars.
While you will spend some time managing your team and their supplies, the bulk of your experience will be completing various missions throughout the galaxy. One of the main story missions is Dark Water, which takes place on the planet of Courtsilias and tasks you with locating the Coil's leader. If you're struggling with this level and don't want to lose an operator, here's everything you need to know.
Before we go into the mission, it's important to select the right operators for the job. While you can absolutely use anyone you want, I had success with Hawks equipped with a long-range rifle, Trick, a Heavy operator, and a Medic operator. We aren't facing droids, so the Astromech isn't ideal, and most of this mission is fighting through a bunch of normal enemies in a fairly linear arena.
This is also a fairly long mission compared to the previous story levels, so having a Medic is fantastic to provide sustain to our squad. Also, make sure to equip them with a long-range rifle as well, since they will be hanging out in our back line for most of the mission! It's worth loading up on either Impact or Firebomb grenades, as these can be very useful for stopping enemy Overwatches or just bringing down tankier targets.
Once the mission begins, follow the waypoint through the alleyway until you trigger a combat scenario. When it starts, you'll be tasked with using the control console to drain the canal. The console can be found along the left side of the dock you're on and is surrounded by enemy Slugrats.
On your first turn, move your long-range operator up to the high ground on the right side and set up an Overwatch to catch enemies near the back trying to push up. This spot can be dangerous since your cover is destructible, so don't stay there too long if things get hot. However, there is an explosive barrel here which you can use to both damage and set on fire multiple enemies if they decide to advance.
As for the rest, move your Heavy up a bit to the cover on the left side and start focusing on shooting at the enemies directly in front of you. Our goal is to strip the potential cover available for enemies so when they get close, they can step into any Overwatchs we set up and walk into a kill box.
Use your Medic and Trick to assist in both stripping any cover enemies may use when advancing or setting up Overwatchs directly in front of you to catch the oncoming melee Slugrats. Keep in mind that on the enemy's turn three, reinforcements will arrive at the back of the arena. This shouldn't be as much of a concern, as they spawn quite far away, and giving yourself some breathing room via killing the first wave of oncoming foes is critical.
