Call of Duty pros are considering sidelining GameSir controllers over concerns that the hardware could offer an unfair advantage, but the manufacturer insists its products do not include built-in cheats.
Recently, GameSir has become an increasingly popular name in competitive Call of Duty thanks to controllers offering high polling rates, customizable buttons, and other performance-focused features.
However, it’s come under fire after it was revealed that some CDL players are reportedly discussing a gentlemen’s agreement, commonly known as a GA, that would stop pros from using GameSir controllers in competition.
The debate itself centres around features available on some GameSir controllers, including turbo modes and programmable macros, which can automate certain inputs, therefore potentially giving the user an unfair advantage.
Well, following the debate, GameSir has now responded directly, denying that its controllers provide anti-recoil, auto-aim or other illegal modifications.
In a statement on X, GameSir said it had become aware that multiple CDL pros were considering a GA against its controllers.
“Recently it has come to our attention that several CDL pros are considering a GA against GameSir controllers, suspecting our controllers include built-in cheats,” the company wrote.
“We want to state clearly: GameSir controllers are 100% legitimate, standard hardware. We do not support or offer cheats or illegal mods, including anti-recoil and auto-aiming. And we welcome organizer inspections.”
