The best anime of 2026 is finally back, and best of all, Netflix is learning from their mistakes with Stone Ocean's hype-killing release schedule. Following nearly a half-year-long hiatus, Steel Ball Run's second batch of episodes will be dropping on September 25, 2026 on Netflix.
The first episode was merely a Special offering anime fans of taste of what's to come: quite possibly the greatest Part in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure history. Steel Ball Run: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Episode 2 has been hotly anticipated for months, and anime fans who want to watch it ASAP will need to wake up early.
Picking up right where the series premiere left off, Steel Ball Run: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Episode 2 will be available to stream both subbed and dubbed via Netflix on September 25, 2026, at 1:00 a.m. PDT and 4 a.m. EDT. Now that the 1st STAGE has set the stage for the story, the anime can begin in earnest. Steel Ball Run's second batch will consist of 11 episodes this time around, adapting the 2nd and 3rd STAGES from the manga (bringing the anime up to Chapter 32).
Rather than releasing all at once, Netflix is committed to a weekly model. New episodes of Steel Ball Run: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure will release every Friday on Netflix. Netflix does not take broadcasting breaks, so the 3rd STAGE is expected to end on December 4, 2026. This will hopefully result in less time between batches.

There are nine total STAGES in the Steel Ball Run race. By the end of Episode 12, Johnny and Gyro will be heading into the 4th STAGE, where the story will really begin to pick up. Considering that the anime is going to adapt seven volumes of the manga within 12 episodes, it stands to reason that the next batch of 11-12 episodes will bring the story up to the end of the 6th STAGE.
There would ten volumes left at the end of the 6th STAGE, allowing Netflix to adapt everything before the final battle in a fourth batch, with the grand finale and final race getting its own fifth batch. Alternatively, Netflix could hold the series finale and release it as a Special, just like they did with Steel Ball Run Episode 1. Time will tell, but at the pace the anime is going and how much story is left to cover, the series could realistically run for another two years depending on production timelines.
