Blue Box Game Studios horror game Abandoned is showing signs of life again, indicating that the title may not be canceled after all. The curious PlayStation exclusive title has left gamers with a lot of questions since its reveal back in 2021, and at one point, Abandoned appeared to be completely canceled.
After years of silence, new hints are indicating that Abandoned may not be dead after all. The listing for Abandoned on the PlayStation Store seems to have been updated to Abandoned Prologue, with a new release window of 2027, though no further information regarding its launch has been made public. The game page also now shows a picture of a woman, who seems to be a new character, given that Abandoned originally revolved around someone named Jason Longfield. However, the Prologue is notably referred to as a standalone game, so it's possible that its story may only be loosely connected to the original plot. There was some movement around Abandoned back in March, when the head of Blue Box's PSN profile indicated he was playing something called Abandoned: Gospels of Blood. However, it's not known if this is the same thing as Abandoned Prologue.
