Publisher and developer Mintrocket has announced its acclaimed debut title, Dave the Diver, has now surpassed 10 million total sales.
The studio has celebrated the milestone with new artwork, shared across its socials:
The 10 million figure is the game's cumulative sales across all platforms since its initial early access launch on PC back in 2022.
Dave the Diver is due to launch on mobile platforms in a matter of days, so I expect it'll add a good chunk more to that total in the near future.
For the uninitiated, the game casts you as a diver (named Dave) who catches fresh fish and gathers other resources in the mysterious Blue Hole. These are then put towards a sushi restaurant, where you serve customers, manage staff, and learn new recipes to earn more money.
It's compelling, lighthearted, and easy to play, but what takes the game to the next level — and why it's so critically acclaimed — is how it continuously builds upon this core gameplay with many other elements.
You'll collect cards based on the creatures you find, upgrade your weapons and tools, improve the restaurant, begin farming crops and fish, and more. It looks simplistic on the surface, but the longer you play, the deeper it goes, and that's to say nothing of the daft story.
Earlier this year, the game got a big DLC expansion called In the Jungle, which adds a whole new environment, yet more new mechanics, and more characters and story content.
