Redsec, Battlefield 6’s battle royale mode, will be getting a faster-paced Warzone Resurgence-style mode in its Season 5 update.
Battlefield joined the free-to-play battle royale market with Redsec in October 2025, and it’s been getting consistent updates through the live seasons since, including a crossover with Top Gun.
DICE revealed that as part of the Season 5 update, they’re bring the new “Rapid Royale” mode. This is a “new variant of Battle Royale built around faster matches,” with “more frequent engagements” and “less time spent searching for the next fight.”
There will be “reduced player counts, smaller play spaces, faster-moving circles, and shorter match lengths.”
It appears that this new Rapid Royale mode will take place in Las Vegas, which would be Redsec’s first new map since its arrival.

If you’ve played Warzone, this probably sounds very similar to the extremely popular Resurgence mode. This is a faster-paced version of battle royale, taking place on smaller maps such as Rebirth Island and Haven’s Hollow.
While the similarities to Warzone’s Resurgence mode are clear, there’s no mention of the eponymous Resurgence mechanic. Here, players can come back an infinite number of times, provided they still have a teammate alive. The respawn timer is lowered by performing actions such as getting kills and looting.
